WikiCred supports research, software projects and Wikimedia events that explore information reliability and credibility. WikiCred also plans and supports small-production, high-scale initiatives in North America that focus on improving and information literacy and credibility on the internet and beyond.
As one of these initiatives, WikiCred offers microgrants of between $250 to $10,000 to individuals and teams for pilot projects on how to support credibility on the internet using Wikimedia, and from insights from the Wikimedia community.
WikiCred’s funding is generously provided by Craig Newmark Philanthropies, Facebook, and Microsoft.

Eligibility: WikiCred welcomes teams with a proven record of working in the open-knowledge movement to apply for these grants. As well, newcomers with new and fresh ideas are also encouraged to apply.
