Glenn Foundation for Medical Research and AFAR—Postdoctoral Fellowships in Aging Research

The Glenn Foundation for Medical Research, in partnership with the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), created the Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Fellowships in Aging Research to encourage and further the careers of postdoctoral fellows, who are conducting research in the basic biology of aging, as well as translating advances in basic research from the laboratory to the clinic. The award is intended to provide significant research and training support to permit these postdoctoral fellows to become established in the field of aging. 

Sarcoma Foundation of America—2021 Research Grants

The Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) is pleased to announce a research funding opportunity to provide one-year grants in the amount of $50,000, to support translational science research on the etiology, molecular biology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of human sarcomas. The grants are awarded on an annual cycle from June 1 to May 31 (the annual period of performance). Grant awards for the 2021 cycle will be made on June 1, 2021.

National Hemophilia Foundation—Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

NHF’s premier research fellowship program is named in honor of Dr. Judith Graham Pool. Established by NHF in 1972, the Judith Graham Pool (JGP) Postdoctoral Research Fellowships have provided a long legacy of support for basic science and pre-clinical research in bleeding disorders. In 1965, Dr. Pool discovered a method of extracting clotting factor from human plasma to formulate cryoprecipitate. This breakthrough opened the door to a series of research developments that would revolutionize treatment for hemophilia and ultimately lead to its management through recombinant replacement factor and current extended half-life therapies.   

Pfizer—COVID-19 Vaccine Patient Education: Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy

Through this RFP it is Pfizer’s intent to support patient education programs designed to increase the understanding and familiarity with COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination among the general population. Of particular interest are educational programs that focus on reaching the medically underserved and other under-immunized populations including those in both rural and urban settings. 

Burroughs Wellcome Fund—Innovation in Regulatory Science

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund identified Innovation in Regulatory Science as an important, underfunded area. This initiative is designed to provide financial support to stimulate research efforts in this area.  The program's focus is on providing support for academic researchers developing new methodologies or innovative approaches in regulatory science that will ultimately inform the regulatory decisions FDA and others make. 

The New York Stem Cell Foundation—Robertson Stem Cell Investigator Awards

The goal of this initiative is to foster highly innovative scientists whose pioneering approaches have the potential to transform the field of stem cell research, and advance understanding and use of stem cells in the development of treatments for human disease. 

American Lung Association—COVID-19 and Emerging Respiratory Viruses Research Award

There is an urgent need to better understand the pathobiology and both long term and immediate clinical implications of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) viral infection that leads to the morbidity and mortality seen with COVID-19, as well as increase knowledge about the potential emerging threat of other novel respiratory viruses. The American Lung Association is looking for proposals to advance research against emerging respiratory pathogens like SARS-CoV-2. All research must directly be related to COVID-19 or other viral respiratory threats that may arise in the future. 

Hearing Health Foundation—Emerging Research Grant

Hearing Health Foundation (HHF) awards grants once a year for the project period of October 1 – September 30. HHF Emerging Research Grants are intended primarily for promising researchers who are in the early stages of their careers and focusing on hearing loss, hearing restoration and hearing and balance related conditions. Senior investigators are also eligible for grants in specific hearing and balance topics.
